Lizzie nodded and appeared to be content. Caty watched her closely for any sign she didn’t want to be here, but when she didn’t see it, she relaxed, an easy smile falling on her features. No part of her regretted her role in helping Lizzie through this, but she’d be lying if she said she didn’t miss going out. She often thought of Georgia back at Hogwarts, likely going to all kinds of parties and living it up her last year of school. Caty missed her friend, but had neglected to write to her with everything going on. When they got back home, she would. For now, she had a party to attend with her gorgeous girlfriend, who seemed to be in good spirits. Caty squeezed Lizzie’s hand, her smile turning into more of an apologetic grimace. “Okay, but I’m definitely going to hit that open bar.” She didn’t want to bring up leaving again, so she hoped Liz knew she would if she wanted her to.
“Two shots of your best firewhisky,” she said when she reached the bar, her arm looping with Lizzie’s so she could pull her closer, giving her a reassuring squeeze. She watched as the bartender poured the drinks, scooting them across the bar. Caty looked at Lizzie, pointing to one of the shots as an offer. Whether Liz did or not is up to Ky, but if she didn’t Cat did both and if she did she ordered another round. Either way, Caty was two shots deep and feeling the burn. “That feels good,” she said, smiling. “You’re so beautiful. Have I told you that today?”

As Caty mentioned the open bar, Lizzie just chuckled and shook her head as she followed. Sliding up next to her girlfriend, Lizzie watched as she ordered two shots of firewhiskey.
Picking up the shot glass, Lizzie tossed it back…the burn was familiar and warm. And as Caty ordered up another round, Lizzie chuckled.
They shot those down too and finally…Lizzie was feeling a little more like her old self. She didn’t want to let that death eater ruin this evening.
You’re so beautiful.
Lizzie smiled and leaned in, pressing a lingering kiss to her girl’s lips before slipping her hand in hers and pulling her to the dance floor.
”It’s been a while…show me what you got,” she teased.

Catherine smiled into the kiss, feeling a little giddy as the alcohol started to take effect. Her hand fit perfectly into Lizzie’s and she let out a light laugh at her teasing, letting herself be led onto the dancefloor. It had been a while since she had last danced and the music was definitely more classy than the muggle stuff she listened to, but her girl’s challenge incited her competitive nature and she was determined to do her best. Caty spun Lizzie out and back into her arms, placing one hand on her waist and the other stayed tangled with hers. This wasn’t the kind of dancing she was used to, but it was like her feet knew what to do anyways. She stepped into an easy waltz, occasionally twirling her girlfriend. Being here with Liz was magical. The rest of the world faded until it was just the two of them dancing together. Caty smiled warmly at Lizzie, pressing a soft kiss to her lips before speaking. “I’m really glad we came. No one could hold a candle to you.”

It felt nice to be out and about again. Lizzie had once been the life of the party anywhere she went. But these days...she had been a complete downer. Truth be told, Lizzie had been terrified that she would run into Abram Schraeder at this party...and she hadn't been sure she'd have been able to keep her mouth shut if she did. But as it was, the auror didn't seem to be here. She had seen Molly Walker...but the blonde had been pretty clear in her demeanor and Lizzie was fairly certain that Walker didn't care for Allman's program. As Caty pulled her in as they danced, Lizzie smiled at her words before kissing her. "I'm glad we came too...I think we needed this."

“We really did,” she sighed happily, her arms sliding around her waist. Caty rested her forehead on Lizzie’s and closed her eyes, breathing slowly. This was really nice. Getting out of the house felt good, but this party felt even better. Part of her had worried if that Auror guy was going to be here, but so far she hadn’t seen him. It was better he wasn’t here; she didn’t want him to spoil their fun. Cat danced with Liz for a few more songs before her buzz started to slip away. She leaned back and smiled. “I think we’re due for more drinks,” she said playfully, shooting her a wink before moving toward the bar, her hand slipping into hers.
Taking a seat, Caty ordered them both drinks. She got a glass of firewhisky, neat, while Liz got her favorite (Caty knows but Car does not). A few more drinks in her system and she’d be feeling real good. Maybe they could even leave the party early and go to a dance club. Or maybe go home and… well, you know. The bartender slid their drinks across the bar and Caty picked hers up to drink some. The burn felt so good going down her gullet and she was tempted to shoot back the entire thing, but that probably wouldn’t be a good look for her. Now that they were back at the bar she had a good view of the party and she could see the photographers taking pictures of them. Cat clenched her jaw and turned back to Lizzie, trying her best to ignore them. “We should probably schmooze with the big wigs at some point,” she said regrettably. Caty gestured over to the reporters to her right with her head. “As long as we can stay away from them.”

The couple danced with each other a bit more...Lizzie doing her best to ignore everything else and just happily exist with her girlfriend. It was like they were back in school for a moment. Lizzie, the little party queen...and Caty...her salvation. After a few songs, Caty mentioned more drinks and Liz just grinned, happy to indulge the woman who had been standing by her in her most recent dark times.
The pair made their way to the bar and snagged a couple seats as Caty ordered up a firewhiskey. Lizzie ordered a French 75 and as the drinks were served, Lizzie took a good sip of her own. It was smooth and she nodded happily. But as Caty's eye seemed to drag away, Lizzie followed her gaze.
Executives everywhere. Business tycoons, Ministry officials...and of course Quidditch team owners, managers, and investors. Across the way, Lizzie's eye landed on the owner of the Harpies and she nodded at Caty's words. Yeah, she probably ought to go over and speak with her "boss" at some point. And she was certainly on board with avoiding the reporters. The only one she wouldn't mind bumping into at this point would be that cute little witch with Witch Weekly. Mariela...the fashion reporter. She was sure Mari would have plenty to say about Caty...Lizzie may have been a bit biased...but her girlfriend was one of the most fashionable people she knew.
Taking another sip of her drink, she sighed.
"Maybe if we wait a minute, your boss will make his way to my boss and we can just hit em in one go," she teased with a grin.
