The year is 2014.
Following a terrifying stint in the rise of werewolf and vampire attacks, the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, partnered with the Department of Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, uncovered the truth behind the attacks. Edith Nott, former employee under the Department of Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, had been orchestrating attacks with groups of known rogue werewolves and creatures. Nott and the offending creatures have all been tried for their crimes and are currently serving their sentences, proving once more that Minister Biggerstaff is a man of his word…working to restore the balance and faith toward magical creatures.
While the magical world is now forced to accept the fact that these magical creatures are not inherently evil or depraved and while Marrow Manor and Lycamp work overtime to assist the new wave of vampires and werewolves adjust, Minister Biggerstaff is continuing his push for societal reform. The newly established Ministry Reformation Program has gained many polarizing reviews since it’s launch in September of 2013. While many question the logic behind giving proven criminals the chance to roam free again, many have praised the Ministry’s attempt to distance itself from the barbaric ways of the dementors.
”For far too long, Azkaban has been the only answer for lawbreakers. The Ministry sanctioned Reformation Program offers these witches and wizards a second chance while ensuring the safety of the world at large.”
Biggerstaff went on to praise the efforts put forth by the Wizengamot and the Department of Magical Law Enforcement in his press conference, calling the program “groundbreaking” and “a step toward humanity”. Biggerstaff maintains the safety of the program, explaining that while Azkaban residents are free to apply for the program, the process for acceptance is rigorous and difficult. Despite the large number of applicants, only seven prisoners have been accepted to date.
Hope may be frail, but day by day, Minister Biggerstaff and his team are showing the world that they are a team for the people and for the future. The Magical World is healing.
