ANITA MARIE LANCASTER
Basics;;
FULL NAME: Anita Marie Lancaster (nee Winchester)
NICKNAME(S): Ani, An
AGE/D.O.B.: 29, 05/19/1982
HOUSE: former Gryffindor
IDEOLOGY: Being part-veela, Anita is very vocal about her disdain of the current legislation. She stands for creature kind and muggleborns alike.
JOB: Charms Professor at Hogwarts
WAND: Aspen, veela-hair (her grandmother’s), 10 inches, slightly springy
BROOM: Star Dust - ivory
PLAYBY: Jessica Alba
Personality;;
LIKES: painting, the arts, charms, teaching others, cute animals, flowers, singing, crepes, summer and sunshine, being an inspiration, french food
DISLIKES: bullying, disruptive students, the dark, bigotry, italian food
STRENGTHS: Underneath her tough exterior, Ani is softhearted. She cares for her students dearly and longs for a family of her own. Don’t mistake this for a weakness though, or you’ll see just how unassailable she is. Anita is gifted at charms, landing her a position at Hogwarts. Perhaps it’s the veela-charm, but she’s persuasive when it comes to something she wants. She’s an accomplished singer, dancer, and painter.
WEAKNESSES: Anita is very headstrong. She rarely ever backs down once you get her started and is fierce when angered. She’s pretty rubbish at potions and transfiguration, though she can do a decent vanishing charm. Ani is a little vain, and she can be pouty when she doesn’t get her way. Rather emotional as well.
AMORTENTIA: ivory keys, sheet music, red wine
PATRONUS: white swan. Those who are highly emotional produce the white swan. They are very in touch with their feelings and are often very sensitive. The white swan symbolizes ones beauty and grace, whether it be the way they present themselves in public, or the way they battle.
It is commonly believed that because they are so emotional that they are weak in battle, but it is quite the opposite. By using their strong feelings to back their magic, spells gain extra power from the emotions at play. This gives the witch or wizard a surprising and unexpected edge in combat.
Her happiest memory is hearing stories from her veela grandmother when she was little.
BOGGART: being alone
MIRROR OF ERISED: to have a beautiful and happy family.

HISTORY: Anita was born to Marie and Harold nearly three decades ago in London. Her father worked there as a Ministry official and her mother moved to live with him prior to Ani being born. Her mother is half-veela, half witch and her father a half-blooded wizard. Anita was born out of wedlock.
Shortly after Anita’s birth, her father passed leaving Marie to care for a newborn by herself. Her veela grandmother moved in to help take care of her. Her childhood was happy enough for a child without her father. She desperately loved her grandmother and her stories. Anita learned about veela magic and how it’s different from witches and wizards. She used to call her special for having both inside her.
Anita was sorted into Gryffindor after receiving her letter and attended her first year without incident. Her years at Hogwarts were wonderful; she made plenty of friends, met her ex-husband Ian Lancaster, a former Slytherin, and fell in love with charms class. When she was 15, her mother married and had another baby girl. Soon after the girl was the boy and now their family was complete. Anita helped raise her siblings after the demise of her grandmother, or at least she tried her best during the summer and holidays.
Anita was present during the battle of Hogwarts and fought beside her classmates, her skill at charms and DADA helping to keep her alive. After the battle, she suffered from PTSD badly and almost didn’t go back for her final year of school. She still suffers from flashbacks to this day, but thankfully they are rare.
Eventually, the brunette went back to school and graduated the same year as her boyfriend, Ian. The two got married soon after graduating and she got a job as a Healer. For years the pair were happily married until fairly recently when she got him cheating on her with another woman. She packed up and left, left her job as Healer, and moved to a small village outside of London. Broken-hearted, alone, and with no prospects, she looked back to Hogwarts with rose tinted glasses and applied for the open position of Charms professor (so Flitwick can do other arts as well as Frog choir).This lovely character is being played by car! car has been roleplaying for probably more like 10 years, and play Keelin Grady, Iola Walker, Peter Woods, Maggie Mayfield on this site. Car lives in the EST time zone, and you can reach them by discord, pm
ROLEPLAY SAMPLE: That was a good question. What made this year different from any other year? Well, for starters Daniel grew up. She had always thought he was cute, but this year she’s finding him to be quite attractive which is not something she’s used to. Her feelings for the Gryffindor mirrored the feelings the protagonists feel toward their love interests in her novels. It was both exciting and terrifying at the same time. “I guess it’s different because we’re both getting older now, and that changes things,” she answered honestly, not quite sure how else to put it. She did appreciate his enthusiasm at hearing the news, which made her feel a little more secure about potentially asking Dan to the ball.
Evie nodded along as Gus spoke. Fox and Emilia were acting strangely, which is bound to stir up more rumors here at Hogwarts. The raven mulled over his words, thinking of Jake and Fox’s situations. He had a good point. Perhaps it was best if she did what was right for her. The brunette let out a sigh. “The trouble is I’m not quite sure what is right for me,” she offered her companion a small shrug and a sad smile. It’s the question she’s been struggling with since admitting to her feelings for the lion. If she makes it known she cares for him, makes herself vulnerable, he could reject her and leave her broken. The bird didn’t think her poor heart could take that.
They continued to make their way toward Ravenclaw tower. Evie fell into a silence, her eyes focused on the way ahead as she continued to ponder on what her friend said. The protagonist in one of her novels would just chin up and ask him, but that wasn’t Evelyn.
Was it not? Did she not go after what she wanted when she entered Professor Barlowe’s classroom, asking to become an Animagus? “I’ve been thinking of asking him to the ball,” she said at last. “I’m scared he’ll say no.”
