| | rose had stayed behind; and though she wouldn’t say it, he knew it was largely because of him. it felt selfish of him to be happy about it, but finch simply couldn’t get enough of her. there was so much to her to like that it made his head spin, so the days leading up to christmas, he’d made sure he collected small things to gift her. in the back of his mind, finch kept thinking about the ring that was tucked away, and how beautiful a stone would look adorned on her finger. throughout the week, he’d stop by his jewelry box and stare at it longingly. christmas eve came and went, and as christmas morning sounded by owls swooping in low to drop gifts or letters, he was absolutely giddy. finch picked his outfit out carefully, taking one last look at himself in the mirror before heading toward the great hall, a bag of things clasped in his arms. tucked neatly in his pocket was the ring he’d mulled over, having decided he didn’t care what it might mean to anyone else. ’meet me at the classroom,’ rose had written. he knew exactly which classroom she had meant, coming to the door and stopping before opening it to suck in a hard breath. the nerves along his neck prickled the hairs straight up, a sheepish smile lined across his face as he quietly opened the door to peak inside. she wasn’t there yet, and finch let out a sigh of relief as he slid inside. the boy set his bag of things down, moving toward the chalkboard at the head of the room. a bulb went off inside of him as he picked up the old chalk that was strewn on the floor, starting to write something along the lines of, ’merry christmas, beautiful’. | light me up, keep it iconic |

[nospaces] [attr="class","oneword1"] 'cause all I know is we said, "hello" and your eyes look like comin' home
[attr="class","itsover"] There was no logical reason for Rose to stay at Hogwarts for Christmas break. She had a loving family and a warm home to go back to. This was her sister’s first year at Hogwarts and she knew her little bestie had all kinds of stories to share. Rose had fully planned on going home. But then Finch happened and everything in her was shifted off kilter. It was the kind of whirlwind romance that you only read about in books and here she was swept up in it. Something about his presence had woken something up in her and she couldn’t get enough of it. It was like their hearts were connected by a string that only pulled them closer together. He filled the empty parts of her and left her craving more at the same time, completely driving her mad. The only thing that helped quench it was his arms around her.[break][break] Rose wasn’t thinking about the future or what any of this meant, she lived only in the present, soaking up every last second that she spent with him. It became commonplace for her to slip her hand in his hand whenever they walked anywhere together and it didn’t matter who saw it because Rose wasn’t thinking about it. It just felt right. Everything about them felt right. It scared her, but - again - she was just living in the now and avoiding any thoughts related to the days to follow. Finch was incredible; she had never met a boy like him before. And part of her wanted to be his.[break][break] Christmas came quickly and Rose realized she hadn’t thought to get him anything. Perhaps that was something she was avoiding for the simple fact that gifts meant something more. Still, she couldn’t show up to their rendezvous empty-handed. That morning, after showering and getting herself dressed and ready, Rose searched her dorm for something to give to him. Time was passing, but she wasn’t satisfied with her options. Finch needed something… special. It almost pained her to think it, but her feelings for the boy were stronger than she was willing to admit to herself. He wasn’t like the others. At last, her green gaze landed on something appropriate and she snatched it before leaving the Gryffindor Tower.[break][break] While walking through the corridors of the castle, Rose tried to control her breathing. Her heart was racing in her chest and there was already a flutter in her belly, the anticipation flooding through her as she descended the stairs. Finch was probably there already and Rose could hardly wait to see him again. She didn’t want to spend another night apart. Before long, she found herself outside the abandoned classroom door, her breath catching in her chest. Okay, be cool, she told herself before opening the door and stepping in. Her lips immediately pulled into a bright smile when she saw him, a warmth spreading throughout her body. He was standing by the chalkboard and her eyes caught something scribbled on the black. Rose looked, heat rushing to her face as she read the words he wrote, her eyes watering a bit. He called her beautiful… she wasted no time crossing to him and pulling him in for a heated kiss.[break][break] “ Happy Christmas, handsome,” she uttered as she pulled back, the happiest of grins sprawled across her face. She handed him the book she carried in her hand, a biography of her favorite Quidditch player. “ For you,” she told him, clearing her throat lightly. “ It’s my favorite.” It wasn’t much, but it meant something to her to be giving this to him. Her gut was screaming at her for doing this, but her heart didn’t care. ulla [newclass=.itsover b]color:#b83939[/newclass] [newclass=.oneword1]transition:1s;overflow:hidden;height:200px;width:450px;[/newclass] [newclass=.oneword1:hover .fromyou1]transition:1s;margin-top:0px;[/newclass] [newclass=.fromyou1]background-color:#2f2f2f;opacity:.8;font-family:arial;font-size:10px;color:#fff;padding:10px;margin-top:250px;width:150px;transition:1s;[/newclass] [newclass=.fromyou1 a]font-family:courier new;text-transform:uppercase;color:#a366b6;letter-spacing:1px;[/newclass]
