December twenty fifth. Christmas Day (or night at this point). And here was Mona.
Alone in a corner booth at Glitter...listening to the piano playing softly as she worked on her third martini of the evening. It was her birthday. Her twentieth birthday to be exactly. And she was alone in a ritzy bar. Why, she wasn't sure.
Her parents simply weren't speaking with her at this point. The fallout over her not having found a husband by now was running deeper than she'd expected it to. She didn't have any siblings to hang out with. And she didn't really have much in the way of friends. The girl had acquaintances though. Plenty of acquaintances. So she smirked and reached for her bag, grabbing a pen and some paper from it.
She was pretty sure that Roxie was finishing up some work at the moment. But...there were some other options. But her mind gravitated toward one in particular. So she jotted a message to a certain dark haired woman she had met at The Vampire's Den almost a month ago. She'd been good company then, surely she'd be good company now too.
Mona was too much to be spending her birthday alone.
Once the letter was forged, the birthday girl folded it up like a paper plane before tapping it twice with her wand, watching it fly away to find it's target before she sighed and settled back into her seat, working on that martini some more.

Kit was spending Christmas alone. Well, she had been over at the Kim's for a little while, but since they'd gotten married she felt exclusively like a third wheel, even though prior to that she'd basically been a live-in girlfriend for both of them. But now...things were different. The day before, Kit found out she was expecting. And, the shittiest part of all is when she went in to get a blood test, she had to make sure who exactly it was that was fathering her child. Her best friend's now-husband, two days before their wedding. Alvin Park, the night of their wedding. Jimmy Pu, the night after the wedding, when she realized that even though she'd given herself to Al, he was...no different than before she'd given herself to him. So perhaps at that point she'd used Jimmy and she did feel guilty, and when she'd gotten the result back, she was more than relieved to find out that it was indeed Alvin's. But after the Park Christmas dinner, she was feeling semi-okay with it. She had a lot to think about - starting with if she wanted to keep it or if she wanted to put up for adoption, or...the last option wasn't really an option. A situation similar to this one (with someone who absolutely did not care) ended with so much scar tissue that it was a fact that Kit wasn't even sure she'd be able to carry a child. And if this one was viable? She was more than happy and more than capable of caring for it herself. She just. Seeing the child with Alvin's face every day was going to be a lot for her, and she knew that already. And it was hard sitting at the Kim's when they were just trying to be happy and newlyweds and she was being a pouty companion. So when Mona's note came flying in...of course she said yes. She dressed quickly, feeling gross in everything she wore, but finally settled on something sparkly in attempt to lift hear spirits. And with a pop, was at Glitter, noted the password, and scanned the room for her new friend. Once spotted, She slid in next to her. "Happy birthday, beautiful," she offered with a smile. One of the wait staff walked up and asked Kit if she'd like something to drink, and she ordered water. Water, and another one of whatever Mona was having on her. "What are you doing alone on your birthday?"

It didn't take long for Kit to join her and Mona shot her a smirk, offering a low whistle of approval as she slid into the booth with her. Mona typically only kept bad bitches around her...and while Kit was a tad softer than the usual company that Mona kept...she was still bad. And Mona could see the potential under her soft and squishy exterior. Besides...Kit often fluffed Mona's ego.
Like now...when she called her beautiful.
At the question, Mona just shrugged.
"Everyone else is busy...Christmas with family or partners or whatever," she said with a laugh. She was pretty used to this...but she was glad she didn't have to spend her twentieth alone. As Kit ordered up a water, Mona looked at her with a raised brow. That was different. The Kit she knew would go drink for drink with her at the bar. But now?
Mona chuckled.
"Water? Really?" she teased. "You pregnant or something?" she teased...not expecting the answer to be yes.

Kit probably wouldn't be spending Christmas alone either, but Mona's logic was sound - family, or partners - both of which Kit didn't have. Unless you counted Alice and Cody, but the brunette was giving them time to enjoy the holiday as a newly married couple, since the previous night had been spent with the Parks. She was already invited to spend the new year with them, and apparently Cody had invited the Korean team to come as well...She wasn't sure if she was going to go, especially after having a freaking scare with two people that were going to be there. Jimmy didn't know, obviously, and it was still up in the air if Alice told Cody, but she figured she had. And...now she was drinking water at a bar with someone she met while, surprise, drunk.
"Water? Really? You pregnant or something?"
Kit didn't expect that response and turned to look at Mona a little wide eyed. "That obvious?" she squeaked, shaking her head to throw out any tears that would threaten to fall. Even though she'd talked to Alvin the previous evening, she was still feeling a little burnt out over it all. Feeling like she was in it alone. But she wasn't at Glitter to weep and moan about her mistakes - she was there to celebrate Mona. "But enough about that. It's your birthday!" she smiled at her new friend, biting her bottom lip. "What's your one wish for the upcoming year?"
