Sop Chong-Yol, or better known by his family as Noah, is the only child of Kevin and Ma-Lee. The couple moved to Australia not long after their marriage, and within a year were blessed with their son, Noah. The couple had tried a few times to add to their family, but it seemed that it was not in their cards. They tried not to get discouraged, and gave Noah everything they could offer as a young couple with semi-decent jobs. His father was a healer at a wizarding hospital near Sydney, and his mother worked in a flower shop. He spent a lot of his younger days in the flower shop cleaning up water spills, feeding the plants, and helping out his mum with arrangements, but in the evenings he was able to spend time on toy brooms and playing games with his father out in the yard.
Noah had always been on the quieter side, very respectful of his elders and the best listener. His mum always said he was quite mature for his age, and he never was sure if that was a compliment or not. An old soul, she’d say. He didn’t get to know his mother very long, though - when he was about five, he and his father lost her to an illness that magic just couldn’t cure. The two of them felt lost without her - Kevin struggling to find care for him during the day so he could work. Not long after she passed, they moved back to South Korea, where the Sop family resided and was able to care for the young boy while his father worked.
Their connection remained, Noah remaining respectful of his father’s busy schedule. Gone were the days of playing in the yard with toy brooms and tossing quaffles, but Noah’s love of quidditch grew as he did, giving him something to do in his free time, when he wasn’t at school. And when the time came, it was a given that he was accepted into the school of magic. He thrived there in quidditch - playing with the likes of Avi Park, David Jeon, and Cody Kim - and found a home in Herbology as well, which his mother would have appreciated with her entire heart. Noah kept it close to him, feeling as though it were a way to keep close to her even while she no longer roamed the Earth.
Noah, along with a few of his classmates, were picked up by various quidditch leagues. Noah had always found a home playing seeker, and was quite good at it. He was nimble and quick, and some said that he could hear the snitch before he saw it. It was possible - Noah would never share his secrets. He became close with his teammates on the South Korean National league - they were like his brothers that he never had.
For someone who’d spent years doing the same thing, spending time with the same people, it came as a surprise when he’d received a bid to play for a league in the UK - David now played for Puddlemere, and he’d been approached by the Falmouth Falcons. He wasn’t sure if that was the place for him, but…with recent relationship issues…perhaps getting away from the South Korean league would be best for him.
