ROLEPLAY SAMPLE: from an equine rp i’m on dont @ me
argemmon never missed a beat when it came to her, it was something she thought of often. how so many replaced her absence with distance, but not him. there was love, though sometimes quiet as the night, something that she dedicated herself to as deeply as protecting the islands themselves. the veils he saw past were the masks of a faceless woman; her line of work came with a price, didn’t it? her morality, the filly she once was, sat encased in rose thorns and venom the second her title was bestowed on her. she was smiling watching the glint of childhood that brewed in his eyes. “avoiding you? never,” he’d said, causing a soft huff to erupt in her throat. but suddenly, her ears were forward, listening close and unsure of what she was expecting. she caught the way the worry seemed to dissipate in his face, and she saw the weathering of age turn to something gentle.
“i understand the importance of your work beyond the shores, but — i do miss you when you’re gone.”
asami felt a shift in the tension of her muscles. she followed his eyes, and it was like time slowed. the spider could almost hear their laughter from all those times they danced in the belly of the cay, and the exhaustion she’d felt just moments prior washed away when argemmon reached for her. turning just slight and leaning closer, asami pressed her maw to his and exhaled a deep sigh. this time, it wasn’t anguish, it was something like hopefulness. against her pride, the petite mare extended the gesture to then rest her forehead into his, the black silks of forelock trickling down his face. as if to say; ”you are my cousin by blood, and you are my brother by choice.”
returning to her own bubble, attention back to reality, her brain quieted. like a switch, asami’s brain flickered through the last few months at high speed. so many conversations, so many dealings between one another, where to begin? things were changing. if anything, she knew that. her lupine eyes fell in the direction of the mainland, and when she spoke, something in her tone had changed. still, she felt far more comfortable, but there was a grave undertone. “there is much to talk about,” asami noted. “something is amiss on the archipelago and my concern for irulan remains. nandalie was nowhere to be found on the mainlands, nor has he returned to her. she will be due any day, argo, if she’s not dropped already.” there were talks everywhere on the what could’ve beens, but the spider knew better than to hang onto breadcrumbs. “he survived the crossing, i know this for sure.”
