MARIELA ROSITA FERNANDEZ
This is Mari who is a Witch Weekly Reporter/Photographer.
They are 21 years old, and look a bit like Becky G.
Played by steve <3.
Mariela was born the second child of Hermes and Cordelia Fernandez - a professional quidditch player and a fashion designer. The busiest pair of parents that one could have, both Mari and her brother Oscar were raised by nannies. Mari’s favorite nanny had been the one that implanted in Mari’s head that Oscar had gotten the smarts and she’d gotten the looks…so trusting her nanny’s opinion she grew up thinking that was really all she had going for her…so not much. At least she had magic - her parents had been concerned for a time when she hadn’t shown any signs of being a witch. But…her letter came before her magic did. That happened on the train to Hogwarts, and she tried to ignore the disappointment that she was sorted into Hufflepuff. Mari was just…always doing her best, but her best was never good enough.
Hogwarts was the first time she actually felt like she had friends, or someone she could lean on. She made friends easily and was one hundred percent the life of the party. She never thought twice and didn’t hold grudges, thinking that they were just going to hold her back. She didn’t have anything to lose, either - her looks were all that mattered anyway, her mom using her as she grew as a model for her designs. But that wasn’t what she wanted to do with her life - she wanted to do more than just be a pretty face…and that was when she picked up a camera. If she wasn’t in front of the camera…she could…be behind it? And it turned out she absolutely loved it. She had an artistic knack for getting the best shots, and spent a lot of time in Professor Lundstrom’s dark room, while still making time for her friends, positivity, and being the resident party planner.
Once she graduated, it was an easy choice to apply for a position at Witch Weekly. A very Mari-like job, she was easy to make friends with clients and get great shots for the magazine. She loved it - getting to know celebrities and not having to be one…it was nice not being on that side, and maybe she was a disappointment to her parents, but she didn’t care. She was happy, carefree, and going through life one day at a time. What happened would happen, and she’d just go with the flow…that’s how it always had been.
