This most certainly wasn’t like Thomas Darling. Not even a little bit. The only part of this that was “like him” was that he really was only doing this for his sister.
Months had passed since the kids had murdered Mickey…and in the moment, Tommy had assured Roxie he would take care of it all. Did he plan to really do anything? No…No, not really. He was perfectly content to let Julian Blackthorn take the fall. The only thing stopping that was the fact that Roxanne hadn’t just moved on. She seemed to genuinely give a damn about the kid and it seemed like every other day, she was knocking on Tommy’s door to ask if he had figured out how to fix things yet.
But today…
Today she was crying. There were few things in this world that got to Thomas Darling. Molly Walker was one of them…and Roxanne was the other. So, the tears of desperation made him feel sick. She was talking about turning herself in again and Tommy couldn’t stop her this time. So finally he just stopped and shook his head.
”Rox…stop. Go shopping…”
His eyes bore into hers and he pulled some galleons from his desk drawer and handed them over.
”Go shopping…I promise when you get back, Julian will be a free man.”
His sister was smart and she seemed to sense something was up but she obliged…and once she was gone, Tommy sighed before standing and leaving the office. He retreated to his room and changed…sliding on his best suit.
Then he returned to his own office, grabbing his parchment and penning two letters. Once sent off, it didn’t take long for his first letter’s recipient to respond and as his eyes fell on the other Achilles heel of his…he fought the soft smile at the corner of his lips.
He had sent a letter to the auror’s office…specifically addressed to Molly Walker. He requested her immediate presence, stating he needed to report a crime and that he felt she was best fit for the job. The second letter…had been penned to Macready Law. He had detailed to them that he was turning himself in but that the entire incident was one of self defense and that he would like to hire their services to represent him. After all…they had gotten Vadellia Allman freed from the dementors.
But right now, his focus was on Molly. She was always so fierce and so stunning…he really couldn’t help himself around her.
Standing, he circled his desk and crossed the room to her, placing a kiss to her forehead before stepping back.
”I’d like to report a murder,” he muttered, his expression keeping the Darling poker face poised perfectly over his features. He knew this was going to hurt Molly…but he also had a plan to make it better. ”I killed Mickey Darling.”

Wanted: Dead or Alive It was a long day but little did Molly Walker know, it was about to get longer. She was tidying up her desk when an owl flew in to land a letter on her desk. The outside had the Darling Enterprises seal which made her tear into the letter as quickly as it had landed on her desk. "Immediate presence?" she muttered aloud to herself. Nodding bye to Abe, she apparated to Darling Castle.
Entering the office in a whirlwind, Molly's wide eyes locked with Tommy's. No words were spoken, she just stared at him as he advanced and placed a kiss to her forehead. He was a fair bit taller than her and he never felt so far away as he did right now.
"I'd like to report a murder...I killed Mickey Darling."
"Tommy..." The Auror was at a loss for words. What did she do? Well there was only one thing she could do. That's why he called her, right? Molly was biting the inside of her mouth as her throat was getting tighter by the second, "I...I have to turn you in." Her hands shook slightly as she took out her wand and cast a binding charm on Tommy's hands behind his back. She apparated the both of them back into the Ministry.
As soon as they landed, Ministry officials advanced on them and took Tommy. She felt as each of her delicate fingers had left the fabric of his suit. What are the charges, Miss Walker? It sounded like she was underwater as they spoke to her. "Murder. The Murder of Mickey Darling." She watched as they dragged him out of sight, never breaking her gaze on him. They were out of sight for five minutes before the tears fell, Molly hadn't moved from her spot.
"Why didn't you run?" she whispered to herself.
