HISTORY: Alavair's family has a storied history among the Irish wizarding houses. His most prominent ancestor, Malcolm, earned renown for fighting alongside William Wallace at the battle of Stirling. This brought a focus to his family, and after the war for Scottish Independence they became a prominent house. Over the years their family acquired wealth through various means, both legitimate and otherwise. This led to Alavair growing up rather entitled, being accustomed to getting anything and everything he could ever want. When he arrived at Hogwarts he was quickly sorted into Slytherin, the Sorting Hat sensing the ambition within him instantly. His first year he became well known among his peers for being exceptionally gifted, particularly in charms. This did nothing to sooth his already large ego. Were he less magically inclined, he might have been a different person, but the talent only served to feed the darkest parts of him. By his sixth year he was already planning on his life after Hogwarts, where he saw himself quickly rising among the ranks at the Ministry to eventually become Minister of Magic. His exceptional scores on his OWLs had encouraged this, and as he entered his seventh year he had become more determined than ever to see it through. This lovely character is being played by Tyler! ROLEPLAY SAMPLE: The cold light from the Moon washed over his woolen cloak as he strode toward the lake. Alavair had no qualms about being out well after curfew. It seemed sometimes like the only time he could think straight was when he was alone, which had led him to walking at night and clearing his head. He had snuck out of the common room easily enough, prefects being the least of his worries as he had made his way through the halls and out the great front door and into the night. He had sent a note earlier to a friend, and while he hoped that she would join him soon enough, he was perfectly content in being alone if that ended up being the case. His stride lengthened as he felt the chill of the wind against his cloak, now thankful that he had donned it before leaving. It wasn't the nicest night to be outside, but the chill made him feel alive in ways that he could barely comprehend, let alone explain. With the lake's edge merely a stone's throw away, Alavair sat down under the trunk of a large oak tree to wait and find out how his evening was going to go.
Alavair reached into his cloak, withdrawing a small leather pouch commonly used to hold potions ingredients. He sat the pouch on the ground in front of him, drawing his wand as he did so. With a smooth wave of his hand, he spoke, his voice almost as chilling as the air around him. "Capacious Extremis". A faint glow emanated from the tip of his wand for a short moment before once again going dark. Alavair opened the pouch, which could fit entirely within one hand, and reached his arm into it. When he had his arm in the pouch up to his elbow, he pulled his arm back out and then closed the pouch. The capacity charm wasn't one that was typically taught, but Alavair had stumbled upon it and decided it might be useful. The wind changed directions ever so slightly, blowing down now from the castle, and he now knew that he wouldn't spend the evening alone. The faint smell of her perfume was already growing stronger, the wind carrying it toward him to tease her impending arrival. Sliding his wand back into his cloak, Alavair allowed his eyes to trail up the way he had come, a thin smile peeking through as he noticed the darker shape making their way toward him. In the darkness he could only see shadows, and he knew it would be a few minutes yet before she joined him at the lake side. He waited patiently, the smile never fading from his face. "If I didn't know better I'd have thought you were going to leave me out here all alone."
