It is coincidentally Charlotte's favourite animal, and though rare, made an appearance during a family outing to Windsor Castle. This particular memory is Charlotte's favourite memory, as she immediately became enamoured with the muggle lineage of the Windsor family, went the entire day without arguing with her older brother and laughed as the family was chased out of the 'hidden' dungeons by a ghost as he yelled that they had ventured too far from their tour group; of course, causing the Leadley family to erupt in harmonious and unadulterated laughter.BOGGART: Charlotte appears in very obvious muggle clothing, with a piece of her broken wand in either hand. She recounts of how she was expelled from Hogwarts for failing her O.W.L.S miserably and the Ministry has declared her unfit to wield magic ever again.MIRROR OF ERISED: She is seated at a desk within the Ministry, photographs of her own beautiful family neatly arranged around her paperwork. HISTORY:The second child, and youngest, to Celeste and Douglas Leadley, Charlotte was raised within the beautiful countryside of Berkshire. Her childhood was one of freedom, inclusivity and positive reinforcement that were also the traits her parents wished for Charlotte to inherit — with the pair of them having overcome their own obstacles with their respective blood statuses, they had vowed to show their children that blood did not define oneself. That subtle message also carried the ideal that magic was an innate talent that while was a common string between all witches and wizards, did not entitle the wielder to use it for nefarious purposes.
Her upbringing, a healthy mixture of magical and muggle, allowed Charlotte to develop a personality that excelled both in her muggle schooling and eventually, Hogwarts. It was leading up to her first year that Charlotte doubted whether or not she truly was meant to be a witch, that perhaps somewhere along the line there was some kind of mistake, or that it perhaps skipped a generation. That particular feeling resulted in a fairly nauseous train ride on the first day of term — she could not bring herself to eat a single thing at her first feast — and only dissipated the following day in her first charms class, when she successfully performed the Alohomora spell.
With tangible evidence that Charlotte did belong, she became entirely enamoured with her magical education and though she made sure to enjoy herself, much of her time was spent pawing through books within the library and cultivating a very impressive collection of neatly written notes; all of them decorated with relevant diagrams penned by her own hand. She was a fast learner with a skill for information retention, and by the end of her first term it was clear to her professors that Ms. Leadley was nothing short of a dedicated and innately gifted witch.
The following years of Hogwarts were not unlike the first, albeit burdened with Charlotte's own insatiable hunger for knowledge. She had joined a number of clubs — most notably Duelling and Magical Creatures, along with all of the clubs for each of her lessons. Though eventually, at the beginning of her fifth year, Charlotte achieve the first big milestone of her life plan and became a Prefect. It was not entirely unexpected by her peers, but there was no question that she had earned it — and her appointment was celebrated as much as it was for the next student. This lovely character is being played by Pheebs! ROLEPLAY SAMPLE:It did not take long for Charlotte to realise she was growing dangerously close to the treeline of the Forbidden Forest, and the droves of uneasiness emanating from its depths was unmistakeable. She had heard the tales even in her first year, and despite the self-preserving fear that somersaulted frantically in the pit of her stomach, a small insatiable voice at the very back of her mind compelled her to breach the far-too-tall trees and discover its secrets for herself.Dressed in the robes of her house, Charlotte took a deep breath, retrieved a thin hairband from her left pocket and proceeded to tie her hair into a ponytail. It was a staple, a characteristic that showed Charlotte was thinking, toying with the ideas that were beginning to form and analysing. The Forbidden Forest was rumoured to be terrifying, and home to all kinds of things that went bump in the magical night, but Charlotte knew that the only way she was going to overcome her fear of the unknown — but while being arguably terrified, she was still the Charlotte Leadley that was level-headed and innately smart. She would never had ventured too far in, she was a gifted witch and already had a plethora of spells at her disposal, but throwing caution the wind and literally walking towards almost certain danger was not her. This was to be a discovery visit, one or two metres into the darkness that was ever-present beneath the large overhanging trees and nothing more — even that was making the fine hairs along the back of her neck stand to attention, following up with a chill that rippled throughout her body like a shockwave. "Nothing ventured, nothing gained, Leadley."
