HISTORY:
Skyler Marie was born in Florida to George and Angela Clarke. While magical blood does run in the family, it skipped both her mother and aunt, leaving both of them squibs. Angela met George after graduating from a muggle high school, they married shortly thereafter and Skyler was born less than a year after their wedding. George joined the Army, and Angela was a stay at home mom. Although it seemed relatively quaint on the outside of their suburban home in the states, their lives were anything but. Arguments and a dark cloud always loomed over the Clarke house. Angela was resentful that she was born without magical qualities and had battled it all her life. As she grew older, she turned to alcohol to block out what she viewed as a failure. George, on the other hand, grew to resent his wife and child. Wishing that he hadn't married so young and that he wasn't with someone who drank all day and didn't contribute to the house in any way aside form making sure that Skye was fed daily and clean.
Love wasn't a popular word in the Clarke family. Skyler showed signs of her magical prowess at a young age. Once she began showing these signs, her mother grew more resentful towards her and all but detached emotionally from Skye. The majority of her childhood was quite lonely and unpredictable. With her father practically nonexistent in her life, and her mothers verbal and emotional abuse, Skyler quickly became a quiet introvert with a fear of confrontation and a people pleaser mentality. Thankfully, her grandparents had convinced her mother and father to allow her to study at Illvermorny, which meant that she would get away from them for the majority of the year and focus on one thing she loved more than anything. Studying. She was sorted into the Horned Serpent House and thrived while away at school. For the next five years, she would make friends, excel at her studies, and put distance between her and her begrudged mother.
Unfortunately, a bombshell was dropped on her seemingly perfect left when her family was uprooted by her fathers job and they were relocated overseas. They moved into a small London Flat, and she was transferred to Hogwarts where she was sorted into Ravenclaw house and would start her entire life over at the age of sixteen..This lovely character is being played by Skye! ROLEPLAY SAMPLE:
Skler wasn't good at much, but plants she understood. As long as you showed them care they would bloom and blossom their beauty for all to see. It was a dreary day, abundantly cloudy and windy with the threat of a cold snow lingering above the grounds. The Herbology professor had asked for a volunteer to help cover and maintain some of the more docile plants in the garden. All she had to do was bring the potted plants that sat just outside the greenhouse, and bring them in and make sure they were well protected from the pending snow that was to fall later that day. Skye pulled her thick cloak tight around her, bracing against the wind as she closed the gap between the castle doors and the greenhouses. Reaching the first few smaller pots, she gathered them in her arms and brought them into the safety of the greenhouse. She loved the way it smelled inside. Rich and Earthly. Inhaling deeply, she smiled and set the plants down on the cleared table to her left. Pausing a moment to admire the different herbs and flowers, magical and nonmagical, she could only hope that one day her own garden would look so spectacular.
The eleven year old often dreamed of her future home being covered in nothing but vines and flowers. Pulling herself from her thoughts, Skye skipped out of the greenhouse and repeated the process several times before coming to the final pots which were the biggest and heaviest. The wind picking up, she struggled to lift the larger pots and the wind wasn't helping by throwing her hair in her face. Just as she got the pot off the ground, she tumbled and dropped it with a hard thud against the ground. "Oh no..." she grumbled prying the hair out of her mouth and trying to push it behind her ears. When she finally got a clear view of the pot it was completely emptied and the contents was scattered. Frantically, she dropped and started gathering it up, hoping she could fix it before her professor saw it.
