Sunny still wasn’t particularly adjusting well to this new school. He was angry…heartbroken…and just overall pretty bummed out. In the course of a few months, the boy had lost his parents…his home…his school…all his friends…
Koda, the most responsible and mature of the brothers, had made the decision to move them to the UK to be with Uncle Mo and Aunt Mae and all their cousins. And he couldn’t blame Koda. There was no way that they could make it through all of this on their own. It made sense to cleave to the family they had left.
But Sunny just wasn’t happy.
He had talked Bo into helping him practice some tonight and at least that took the edge off of things a bit. Sunny loved quidditch…and he was good at it. Bo was good too and his natural agility gave something for Sunny to focus on…so after a couple hours of drills and such, the cousins touched down on the grass and Sunny thanked the Hufflepuff for his help…watching as the guy slinked off.
Sunny however…wasn’t quite ready to go.
He sighed and moved to his bag…pulling his iPod out of it. He smiled down at it. His cousin Alvin had put just enough of a charm on it to allow the tech to work within the wards of the school…the same thing he had done to all the school aged boys’ phones. And Sunny was thankful.
At least he still had his music.
Leaning back against the wall behind him, he popped an ear bud into one ear…leaving the other open just in case. Eyes glancing up to the rings, he thought back on the tryout days a couple months ago.
He had seen a lot of talent that day.
Raelynn…Jay’s girlfriend. She was a fierce one. Definitely had heart and drive.
Georgia…Luke’s girlfriend. Sunny was glad that she was on his team. She was a brutal one.
Gia…
Sunny furrowed his brow as he thought about the Slytherin chaser. She was another loaded firecracker.
This school just had a thing for producing pretty, blonde quidditch chaser mini monsters. Not that Sunny was upset by it. It was a highly attractive quality that all three girls shared.
But there was something more to Gia. An air of mystery and an aloof demeanor. It was intriguing. And Sunny would be lying if he said he wasn’t glad he’d be seeing more of her on the pitch. She’d have to get pretty damn close to him to get a shot past him after all.
He was so lost in the music and his thoughts and gazing up at the sky as it darkened, that he didn’t even notice someone else was approaching…
Let alone the very girl on his mind.

Seventh year was proving not to be as difficult as people were making it out to be. Of course, Gia was still trying to figure out what she wanted to do, delving into defense against the dark arts and charms, where she excelled. But quidditch was such an outlet for her…it wasn't something she wanted to pursue but. She enjoyed it. She got to hang out with Leo and others she didn't really off the pitch…so it gave her a chance to be social…enough.
Gia did enjoy a good night's fly, though…or in this case, evening fly. A small flask of fire whiskey in her bag, she held that in one hand and her broom in the other. She didn't see anyone out there, so when she practically tripped over someone laying down, side stepping them and cursing.
The person didn't really move, so Gia dropped her bag and set her broom down, moving to pull her hair into a ponytail. "Something exciting up there?" she offered as she bent down to pick up her broom, glancing back to see that it was the transfer keeper from Ravenclaw, how he magically got captain even though he hadn't played for the team. Good on him, she supposed.

Sunny hadn’t expected anyone else to be out on the pitch. Back at his old school, he would relax on the pitch, just gazing at the stars, until curfew. And no one would bother him.
But here, apparently, he wasn’t alone in his enjoyment of an evening on the green. He had seen the movement before he had really heard her. And as she dropped her bag and pulled her hair back, shooting a retort about how he was staring at the sky…Sunny felt a smirk pull at his lips.
”Currently…Ursa Major,” he offered with a shrug, sitting up and watching her. She was every bit as fierce up close as she had been when he had been watching her at try outs.
”I am not used to others wanting to spend the evening on the pitch,” he said rather plainly.
Sunny knew well the whispers around his captaincy. It was bizarre. He transfers and joins the team and already secures the captain spot. But his team mates seemed to have developed an instant trust in him…or at least his ability. So he knew he would not fail them. He couldn’t. Trust was important.
”Do you do this often?” he asked, standing and removing his headphone.

"Currently…Ursa Major."
Sunny Park sat up, mentioning something about not being used to others on the pitch and she shrugged. People spent time on the pitch for various reasons…extra practice, to let off steam, night flies, which was the reason for Gia's interest at the moment. "You mean people don't have sex in the stands at wherever your from?" she asked, pretending to be surprised. That was the other reason she knew people spent time at the pitch at night. Personally she wouldn't want anyone looking at her ass in the middle of the night air, but to each their own.
"Do you do this often?"
Sunny stood, likely getting ready to leave. She watched him carefully as he removed his headphones, curious as to how they worked considering the muggle device ban. She wouldn't have minded being able to listen to music. "Enough. What were you listening to?"
Gia had a habit of doing that…redirecting a question to keep the focus off of her.

Under the evening starlight, Gia Jones looked rather ethereal. And Sunny couldn’t help but notice. He was a total stick in the mud these days and most certainly preferred to just be alone…but he was just a guy. And she was a stunning girl.
His comment brought forth a question of her own and as she said it, his brows raised in surprise. Students…doing that in bleachers?
”They…that’s a thing that happens here?”
He knew England was likely a bit less formal and strict than his previous school…but not by that much. It was shocking to the kid.
He stood, aiming to just get out of her way but when she asked what he was listening to, he felt the left corner of his lips twitch into a small smirk for a moment before holding the ear bud out to her.
What was playing was an early release of a song his cousins had created. It was good. It got him ready to play quidditch and their native language gave him a bit of peace and sense of home in this much larger, much stranger school.

The reaction she got from Sunny did make a small smile pull at the corner of her lips as she rolled her eyes, a little playfully, a little annoyed. It was a very Gia thing, and not because of what Sunny said. Sometimes she wondered how many people avoided her because they couldn't read her very animated face...but then she'd shrug it off and forget about it. She didn't care who did and did not like her - even those she considered "friends" she tended to keep at an arm's length. "Bleachers, broom cupboards, abandoned classrooms, the dungeons..." she listed off a few more. Gia herself wasn't active in that way - she'd made out with a few people (Sunny's cousin Bo for one), but hadn't ever been interested enough in anyone to take that next step.
Sunny stood and instead of leaving, he chose to answer her question. She looked at the earbud a moment before looking up at his face (unsurprisingly very handsome considering who his cousins were) and then back at the earbud. Rolling her eyes and letting out a disgruntled sigh as if he'd just taken up her entire evening, she took the earbud and held it up to her ear.
It wasn't like anything she'd listened to before, and probably not something she would listen to regularly, but it was... it had its...charm, she supposed. Probably a group from where he came from, which would of course make sense. She handed him back the earbud to not over on them for too long, wishing that she could get her own earbuds to work in the confines of Hogwarts. "From Korea?" she asked, a little bit of curiosity showing through. Not many people got to see that side of her these days.

The smile and the roll of her eyes was the literal definition of a mixed signal and Sunny just watched her as she spoke again, listing the various places that the students of Hogwarts allegedly got down and dirty. He wasn't particularly judging anyone...but...he himself couldn't see himself liking someone enough to take that kind of leap, only to bring them to a tight broom closet or the open bleachers where anyone could find them. But to each their own!
He offered her a nod of understanding, his brow furrowed slightly as he processed.
But right now, he was focused on the way she sighed and took his headphone. He couldn't help but smile a bit at it. She was cute...in a terrifying way. And damn if that wasn't his type. But as he watched her face as she listened...he could tell that she was at least a little into it. She eventually handed him the earbud back and he grinned at her question, shaking his head.
"Kinda?...More like...Here."
He chuckled softly and tucked his charmed device away.
"Bo...Jay...Luke...and their older brothers."
Sunny nodded and watched the girl carefully. His cousins were insanely talented. He had always wondered if any of them would pursue music...he had just never expected them to form their own group and circumvent the trainee system all together.

Gia couldn't, either. But she'd heard talks in the common rooms - she'd even heard that some got it on the greenhouses. Whatever floated their hormonal boats, she supposed...it just wasn't for her. But the reaction she was getting from Sunny was enough to flit a little smile across her features. Clearly he wasn't expecting it, and clearly that wasn't something that happened frequently at his other school. The conversation didn't stay on that subject, though, and Gia would be a liar if she said she wasn't thankful for that.
"Kinda?...More like...here."
Gia watched carefully as he tucked his headphones away and raised a brow as her gaze went back up to his face.
"Bo...Jay...Luke...and their older brothers."
Ah, the Parks. Gia was acquainted with Bo - lucky her had her name scratched into his little black book. It almost felt like...who didn't lately. But he was a good time; sweet, fashionable, and totally someone she'd probably crush if she got the chance. Probably why she didn't go for seconds. That, or...she didn't want to seem desperate. Yeah, it was probably the latter. "How many of them are there?" she asked - she wasn't attentive enough to know of the older brothers other than Nico. "Not often talent flows through the entire family like that. You're...their cousin, right?"

Sunny was proud of his cousins. What they were trying to do wasn't easy. But there they were...doing the damn thing. It was an amazing thing to watch unfold. Their names had already started to generate buzz in Korea before he had come over here. And that was crazy given how hard the companies there pushed their idols.
How many of them are there?
Sunny smiled softly...happy to be talking about something he knew...even if it was in a language he was still struggling a little with.
"There are eight," he offered, hand running through his dark hair as he watched her. "Erin, Evan, and Alvin are the oldest three...they do most of the writing and producing and rapping. Then there's Ben and Luke who do most of the vocal work...and Nico, Bo, and Jay are the best dancers I've ever seen."
He gauged her response a moment, fairly certain she didn't care...but oh well. She had asked.
Nodding at her question, he just sighed. He was their cousin. But his talents mostly lay in quidditch. There was a reason he'd been appointed Ravenclaw's captain without ever having played on their team.

Gia didn't usually involve herself in other peoples' affairs, so it would make sense she didn't know (or care) that the Parks were musically inclined, or that there were eight of them. Eight. Gia thought it was bad enough having just one older sister...she couldn't imagine having seven. And she and Gemma were as different as night and day, too...there's no way they would be able to collaborate on something like music. They butt heads too much.
Sunny kept talking in his little accent about the dancers and producers and while he might have thought she didn't care, she kind of did. Gia had a soft spot for music - she played guitar and did a little singing, but only on her free time. It wasn't something she shared with other people. So if the Park boys were pursuing their dreams, then good on them. They were impressive and ambitious.
"What about you, though? Not every day a transfer gets appointed captain," she crossed her arms across her chest as she looked at him, eyes flicking over his form before narrowing in on his eyes again. "Are you and your siblings all quidditch prodigies?"

Sunny was so proud of his cousins. He was proud of his home. He was proud of his culture. It may not show in his broody nature as of late, but he was proud of who he was. So Gia taking this small interest in him was nice. He enjoyed getting to talk about his family.
And as she steered the conversation to his talent on the pitch, he just nodded. He hadn’t expected to actually secure the captain position. He had tried out after reassurance from his youngest cousin’s girlfriend. But when they had handed him the captain’s pin…he had initially thought it was a joke. But his team seemed to have his back.
She asked about his own siblings and Sunny just grinned for a moment.
”Avi plays professionally,” he offered simply. Ky wasn’t sure which team Ella was planning on putting him on so for now, Sunny just left it at that. ”Koda is a healer though. He has talent on a broom but he always knew what he wanted to be…so he never bothered much with quidditch.”
He let a moment pass as the sky above them continued to dance with stars. She was beautiful. Her hair practically flowed under the moonlight.
”I look forward to when we play you,” he commented with a sly smirk. ”You looked good during tryouts.”

"Avi plays professionally." Well, apparently Gia just didn't put two and two together. The Appleby Arrows were one of her favorite teams and, yes, the seeker's name was Avi Park. "That's your brother?" it made sense now. Sunny went on to talk about another, probably brother, being a healer and she just nodded. So they were all quidditch prodigies...Koda just had different priorities. Gia wondered what it was like to be able to just...know what you wanted to do. Surely Sunny was going to play professionally too, considering he was good enough to get captain on his first year at Hogwarts. Gia and Ivy had been pining for the coveted spot on their own team, but Gia was sure (and we're waiting on Steph's application ) that Ivy was going to get the spot. She wasn't too bothered, though. It gave her more time to just...be alone and brood. Very Gia. Gia pursed her lips and nodded as the quiet passed, half tempted to end the conversation and hop up on her broom, but instead, Sunny spoke again. This time about her own formidable skills. Well, he didn't say as much, but Gia was a little cocky. "Don't let the match against Gryffindor make you feel like we're any less intimidating," Gia huffed a little. "We have two second years and while they're good, they still need to hone their skills."

Avi had always been the brother with the smaller, more slender frame. It made him aerodynamic and agile enough to be one of the world’s greatest seekers. And Sunny was proud of him.
That’s your brother?
Sunny nodded, dark eyes still watching her intently. He mentioned wanting to play against Gia, and as she snapped back…assuring him not to count them out…he couldn’t help the grin that flicked across his features. He most certainly wasn’t counting Slytherin out.
What had started as a dead heat game that anyone could win…only fell to the wind because Gia had gotten knocked out of the sky.
”Speaking of last match…”
He took a small step toward her.
”How is your arm?”

It was a match, that was for sure. Gia had been more mad at herself than anything else when it came to her injury, and it ended up being just a stupid sprained wrist. Something the nurses couldn't really do anything about, either. "Just wait it out." "Do these exercises." It was stupid, and she felt stupid only being able to half-ass everything during practice. She didn't think it mattered much - her team knew what she was capable of and wanted her to be at her best when they played their next match. Rest was more important than practice, but Gia just...wanted it to heal now. Patience wasn't exactly her strong suit.
"Speaking of last match..."
Gia raised a brow. Surely he was going to comment on her technique or something. Since he was a prodigy and all.
"How is your arm?"
She had opened her mouth to protest anything he said, but he...didn't criticize. Instead...he did something no one else had done and asked her how her arm was. Her gaze softened slightly, but only for a moment before she bristled again. "It's fine." she absentmindedly rubbed her wrist. "It's kind of why I'm out here. My team won't let me practice and..." she stopped talking, shrugging her shoulders. "It's fine."

Sunny hadn't been paying attention to the way Gia's gaze had momentarily softened. Instead, he was honed in on her arm. But as she assured him she was fine, he flicked his dark eyes back up to her and nodded. He listened to her go on about how she felt benched and...he understood. It could be hard to push past the ego long enough to let something heal.
"They are smart," he offered simply before sighing. "It doesn't make it any less frustrating though."
He would likely be doing exactly what Gia was doing if it had been him. He couldn't sit still when it came to the sport. He loved it...and being benched would kill him. He imagined that Gia hated it too.
"Will you be ready for me?"
He grinned as he teased her a bit, his brow lifting...his English was still getting better so he didn't really realize the innuendo or insinuations that comment might have made. He was strictly speaking on how Ravenclaw would be Slytherin's next match and he would be the one guarding the hoops she was aiming for.
