GIANNA LOUISE JONES
This is GIA JONES who is a 7th YEAR SLYTHERIN.
They are 17 years old, and look a bit like DOVE CAMERON.
Played by STEVE.
Born the baby girl to two archaeologist muggles, Gia was pretty spoiled…when they weren’t too busy to take care of her. Growing up she spent most of her time with her sister, Gemma, at the hotels, campsites, etc. All three of them made sure Gia grew up with everything she wanted, so hence… she really didn’t want for anything. She also seemed a bit jaded, not realizing that her getting everything she wanted meant that Gemma did not…but it…didn’t really bother her. Gemma had always kept her at an arm’s distance despite the amount of time that the girls spent together.
When Gemma got her Hogwarts letter, Gia…for the first time, felt incredibly lonely. She was, of course, only nine at the time, but sad enough. She tried entertaining herself, but instead, found refuge in music, retreating into herself. She was still a loquacious child, but she was pretty hard to make friends, since she…tended to judge people rather harshly. Given that she traveled around with her parents and never stayed in one place for too long, she always felt like either she would be the one leaving, or the other people would leave. It was easier to be cold and distant than get attached to someone who wasn’t going to be there next week.
Hogwarts kind of changed that for Gia - Gemma had taken her under her wing slightly…as much as she could when they were sorted into different houses, and as much as she wanted to, which wasn’t very much. Gia found that particularly irritating given their relationship, but she found her own in like-minded friends in her own house. Andi Beaufoy, for one - they were both very independent and didn’t care when the other didn’t want to hang out. Most times, they did their own thing in the same room. Leo Williams was another friend - this one she gained mainly through quidditch. Both of them were as close as she’d let people, about an arm’s length away.
Gia tends to be pretty judgemental of people, and still feels (even though Hogwarts is a seven year commitment) that she’s going to lose the people she’s gained. She still plays music and reads quite a bit, but her main focus right now is figuring out what she wants to go after Hogwarts. Quidditch is too busy and allows for too much attention. There’s no easy way for music…perhaps giving Gia the vibe of laziness. Lately her interests have been in overlooked positions at the ministry, places where she can tuck herself away and be of importance when she’s needed…just like she had been since she was nine years old.
