Seventh year was supposed to be the time of his life...but instead, Leo was over everything.
He was over receiving veiled and cryptic messaged from Vadellia and Jackson. He was over all of his friends being out of school. He was over the fact that he had found out one of his oldest and best friends was a no good bastard who was now sitting in a cell in Azkaban. He was over the fact that he was all alone...forced to use his final year in school to perfect his legilimancy for a witch who would kill him in five seconds.
He was over missing Olivia...
But at least there were some weekends where he could fix that.
Like right now.
Feet carrying him to Hogsmeade, he knew she probably beat him there and was waiting for him. He wished he could have beaten her there...but he couldn't use magic to get there the way she could now. So as he finally pushed open the door to the Three Broomsticks, his eyes scanned the room and when they finally landed on her...
Everything felt a little better. His usually stoic and apathetic mood lifted and he crossed the room, wrapping her up in his arms, holding her for a bit before pressing a soft kiss to her lips and smiling faintly. Sure...he was still a bit tired behind the eyes, but the rest of him lit up a bit.
"Olivia," he breathed, before pulling her into a corner booth.

[attr="class","itsover"] If you had told Olivia a few years ago that she’d miss Hogwarts after she graduated, she’d have called you an imbecile. But here she was, missing it with every fiber of her being. There was a protection the magical school provided that she didn’t have anymore. Vader, Jackson; they could reach her now. But more than that she had to leave Leo behind. That was the hardest part. They still wrote to each other often, but with Quidditch season fast approaching, her time was occupied with practice. When she made the team she was ecstatic. Since her transformation, she never thought she’d actually get the chance to be on a pro team. But fortunately for her, the general animosity toward creatures had shifted over this last year. It wasn’t gone entirely, no that’d be too easy. She’d have to work hard to stay on the team. She needed to prove herself to the public. If she was a valuable member of the team, maybe they’d look past her werewolf status. Maybe the hate mail would lessen.[break][break] Liv was excused from practice this weekend on account of it being the full moon. Thankfully it was also a Hogsmeade weekend. She could withstand the sickness to see Leo again, to hold him once more, and she could do it cheerfully. The morning of their meeting she woke up feeling nauseous. The brunette drank some water to settle her stomach before swinging her legs out of bed. She glanced out the window of her bedroom, looking down at the streets of London, already busy in the light of morning. After she graduated, she moved out of her parent’s mansion. There was nothing for her there anyways. She used some of her inheritance to buy a large condo in the heart of the city. Tomorrow night she’d stay in a cave deep in a nearby forest, far away from civilization. With the stress of Vader looming and the pressure of being on the team, she found it more difficult to control herself during each full moon. It was safer for everyone if she stayed away.[break][break] Dressed in a casual outfit, save for her favorite pair of heels, with enough makeup to cover her dark circles and pale skin, Olivia Apparated to Hogsmeade, landing gracefully on the cobbled streets. Butterflies swarmed in her belly as she made her way to the Broomsticks, her heels clicking against stone as she walked. Her heart was beating rapidly, excitement surging through her bloodstream. She pushed open the doors, scanning the vast inn for signs of him. Students and adults filled the room, but no Leo. Liv tried to ignore the small pang of disappointment, finding an empty booth and sliding in. He had to walk from Hogwarts, of course she’d arrive before him. Still, she was anxious to see him again. It had only been about a month but to her that felt like forever.[break][break] The doors opened again and she looked up expectantly, more fluttering in her stomach as her eyes landed on the love of her life. A bright smile pulled at her lips and she slid out of the booth, standing to greet him. His arms surrounded her, bringing her in close and she breathed a sigh of relief, her own arms wrapping around his shoulders. They stood like that for a few beats before he leaned back to kiss her softly. She drank him in before he pulled away, a ghost of a smile on his lips. “ Leo,” she replied, giving him a once over. He looked good, but tired. A small frown tugged at her lips. Had he been pushing himself too hard? He pulled her to a corner booth and she slid in next to him, unwilling to be apart from him, her hand curling into his. “ I’ve missed you so much,” she smiled. “ But, tell me, you seem tired. Are you okay?” ulla [newclass=.itsover b]color:#683cd8[/newclass] [newclass=.oneword1]transition:1s;overflow:hidden;height:200px;width:450px;[/newclass] [newclass=.oneword1:hover .fromyou1]transition:1s;margin-top:0px;[/newclass] [newclass=.fromyou1]background-color:#2f2f2f;opacity:.8;font-family:arial;font-size:10px;color:#fff;padding:10px;margin-top:250px;width:150px;transition:1s;[/newclass] [newclass=.fromyou1 a]font-family:courier new;text-transform:uppercase;color:#a366b6;letter-spacing:1px;[/newclass]

Despite all the strange shit the two had gotten tangled up in...Olivia was still the light that made everything okay. As he held her, he closed his eyes...taking the moment to just rest in her embrace. There had been fights along the way...there had been a couple of breakups...but he wouldn't have given the past two years of his life to anyone else.
They sat down and her hand slid into his. Leo kept that same tired smile on his face as he watched her. She had missed him but he was willing to bet it all that he had missed her more.
"I've missed you too," he echoed behind her...before she asked of his wellbeing. Leo just smiled at her and nodded.
"You know how seventh year is...add in the extra divination lessons...it's just a lot."
He knew Olivia would know that he was referring to the legilimancy lessons. He just...couldn't risk others around them knowing about it. He raised the hand that wasn't holding hers and used it to tuck a piece of hair out of her face and behind her ear.
"And what of you, darling? I've read all about how hard you're practicing these days...are you taking time to rest?"

Seventh year at Hogwarts was indeed hard. Between preparing for NEWTs and the mountains of schoolwork the professors deem necessary, it can get overwhelming. And that’s not including Quidditch and other… extracurriculars. At the mention of his “extra Divination” Olivia squeezed his hand tightly. She knew what he meant and she knew what this extra study was for - she liked neither. Liv leaned into his touch, keeping her gaze on him as he turned the question back to her. Heat rose to her cheeks. The tabloids hadn’t been very kind to her. Witch Weekly, at least, made sure to point out how hard she was working, but a lot just focused on her identity. Olivia Moretti had to be the first werewolf to ever join a pro Quidditch team. They couldn’t get enough of the engagement it brought them. Everyone’s got opinions, after all. [break][break]
“I’m trying,” she decided to answer honestly. A soft sigh escaped her, her gaze flicking down to their joined hands. Between Jackson and the hate mail she’s been getting, it was hard to sleep soundly. She felt like she was always looking over her shoulder, waiting for some attack. Of course hate crimes against creatures was now Azkaban-worthy, but that didn’t stop the glares she got in public. “It’s just hard. To feel safe.” Who’d ever think Olivia would be afraid? It’s not that she felt she couldn’t protect herself, she knew damn well she could. She let out a small, dejected laugh. There was no use feeling sorry for herself, she thought. Liv looked back up at Leo, putting on a more confident smile. “Work’s been great, though. I didn’t expect to get such a warm welcome.” She nudged him with her shoulder, flashing a smirk. “Maybe we can get on the pitch together sometime. I can show you my new moves.” Plus it’d be amazing to play with him again. [break][break]
Madam Rosmerta came by to take their orders. Liv ordered a butterbeer and some chips, just something to munch on. She still didn’t feel very good, but that’s part of the price of being a werewolf. She was just going to have to tough it out. “Have you seen my brother around school?” Michael Moretti was just sixteen and a Ravenclaw, so it was likely he hadn’t. Despite the pair of them growing apart after her transformation, she still worried about him.

Leo did his best to avoid the articles that talked poorly about his love. But he knew they were there. They engaged him. But he was proud of his girlfriend for following her dreams...circumstances be damned. He listened to her as she answered him honestly. He knew she was...he didn't need to feel around in her head to figure it out. Not that he ever would.
It’s just hard. To feel safe.
Leo nodded. He had a feeling that was the case...and he hated that he wasn't there to offer her an extra sense of safety and security. She moved on in conversation though...speaking of her team and Leo offered her a smile. He hadn't told her that he knew Wilhelmina was a werewolf. He knew she knew...there was no way she didn't. Everything Leo had ever studied about lycanthropy told him that Olivia would know her own kind. But she hadn't told him...and he admired her willingness to keep such a secret.
She was a good woman...no matter what anyone else said.
Maybe we can get on the pitch together sometime. I can show you my new moves.
Leo couldn't help but laugh a bit. "That sounds good to me," he offered, kissing her forehead sweetly. "What's it like playing on the same team as Vanderhyde and Vance now?" he asked with a raise of his brow. It had to be different coming together to play instead of facing off.
After placing an order for a butterbeer, Leo returned his gaze to his girlfriend. She asked about her brother and Leo nodded. "Saw him in the library...he was busy studying though. He looked alright."
Rosmerta brought their orders and Leo took a swig of his beverage, sighing softly. Gods, he wished they could just lead normal lives. They both certainly deserved it.

She won’t lie, joining Puddlemere had been an adjustment. Liv was so used to her own team that playing with witches who used to be rivals was strange. She had to get used to everyone’s different playing styles and learn new ones. But she was determined to do well, to put in the work to become a working cog in the machine. Of course, having Willie there as added support helped. Even if she wasn’t out, knowing there was another wolf in her circle was comforting. They weren’t close, but they weren’t enemies either. There was respect there. “It’s different,” she said with a laugh. “There are times I miss our old team. But I think this new dynamic is going to be just as good.”[break][break]
Olivia breathed a soft sigh of relief at his words. Michael was doing okay. She felt a small pang of regret. Logically, she knew there was no repairing their relationship but she felt like a bad big sister for not trying. Perhaps it was all her fault, after all she retreated into herself after it happened. Maybe she could try and reach out. “I wonder if I acted too soon,” she said sadly. “Moving out.” There wasn’t a whole lot she could do about it right now. Liv was thankful their orders arrived when they did.[break][break]
Liv took a sip when Leo did. The warmth of the butterbeer washed down her esophagus, warming her up from the inside. It made her feel a bit better, less tired. She looked over at him, offering him a small smile. “Tell me everything you haven’t already.” There had to be more going on in his life than her own. Hogwarts was always filled with excitement. And honestly a bit of drama would do her some good.

It's different.
Leo imagined as much. For years, Olivia had faced off against Prince and Vanderhyde each year. But both of the Ravenclaw alumni were incredibly talented. More than once, Leo had listened to his friends complain about how hard it was to get a shot past Willie. And Caty? Hell, even Leo had a hard time hitting her.
"You'll have to get me Jeon's autograph before he goes back to Korea...rumor has it the Korean National Team is making a play to get him back. Guess losing him hurt them too much."
He wasn't surprised. David Jeon was a talented beater. It would be interesting to see what he decided to do.
But Olivia seemed to want to talk about her brother...and whether or not she had moved out too soon. Leo sighed softly. He...didn't have an answer for that one...
"You can always write to him, my love," he offered. "Even if he doesn't write back...at least you tried."
Tell me everything you haven’t already.
Leo smirked, setting his mug down and looked to Olivia.
"Hmmm...Oh!" he chuckled softly. "Tova is my teacher now," he teased...referring to the girl who was simultaneously his friend, his professor, and dating his brother. "She's doing well...definitely delivers the subject better than a ghost...she'll always be too good for my brother."
Leo rolled his eyes at the last part. Things between him and Jake were still very much strained. But...perhaps he was a bit too harsh. Jake had gotten into the auror training program after all. But still...Leo was protective of his friends. And he wasn't sure he would ever forgive Jake for the way he had played Roxie and Tova.
But Tova and Roxanne were both seemingly happy now. So he moved on.
"The quidditch team isn't great this year...lost too many of you guys at once...teamwork is hard to build with all newcomers...but it seems to be the norm across the houses this year."
Leo sipped at his butterbeer and rambled on through a few more things before focusing his eyes on Olivia again.
"I miss having breakfast with you every morning," he muttered softly, giving her hand a gentle squeeze.

“If you like,” Olivia laughed brightly. Jeon and Liv hadn’t had too many interactions besides him welcoming her to the team, but she’d do anything for Leo. Though she was pretty sure he was joking, she’d get it anyway just to see his face light up. If David did go back to Korea, they’d be out a damn good Beater. “Well they better try hard cause we’re not giving him up so easily.”[break][break]
She did want to talk about her brother, but maybe now wasn’t the right time. Liv offered Leo a half-hearted smile at his reply and she nodded. “Yeah,” she said after a beat. “Yeah, I just might.” And that was all she wanted to say on the matter. No use wasting this precious time with him on something silly like her family affairs. Instead, she turned it back to him, asking him to tell her everything. She listened earnestly as he spoke, her lips curling into an easy smile as she watched his face light up. Olivia didn’t know that Tova wanted to be a teacher, but she couldn’t say she was surprised. The brunette nodded solemnly at Leo’s comment regarding his brother. She wasn’t really a fan of Jacob Williams either. He did Roxie dirty and she’d be the first to hex him if he stepped out of line around her. [break][break]
Yes there were a remarkable amount of seventh years on the teams. Most of them continued their Quidditch careers, which Liv was thankful for. They were good competition and it would be nice to see familiar faces on the national pitch. While he talked, Liv nibbled on some chips and sipped on her butterbeer. The food and drink was always delicious, but her stomach could only take so much at a time. [break][break]
“I miss having breakfast with you every morning.”[break][break]
Olivia looked up from her basket of chips with a sad smile, squeezing his hand back. “Me too,” she sighed before leaning in to press a lingering, soft kiss to his lips. She pulled back slowly, hazel eyes fixed on his bright blue ones. “Soon we could be waking up next to each other. If you’d like.” She hadn’t formally invited him to stay with her after he graduated, but she wanted him to. There was nothing she wanted more.

Leo grinned as Liv mentioned how Puddlemere wasn't going to give him up easily. They'd paid a pretty penny for him after all...and if Leo wasn't mistaken, that price had paid his contract for a few years. Plenty of time for Leo to graduate and start going to all of his girlfriend's matches. Plenty of time for him to secure an autograph.
His suggestion to just write to Michael seemed well received and Leo gave her hand a soft, reassuring squeeze. He didn't like seeing her down or upset about anything...but there really wasn't much he personally could do to restore that relationship for her. So as she seemed keen to let it lie, he moved along.
Normally he wouldn't jabber on about some other woman...but Tova had developed at least a little bit of a friendship with Olivia too. So Leo didn't see any harm in discussing their mutual friend. The solemn nod at his comments about his brother just affirmed that at least Liv was still on the same page as him too. He didn't know if everyone else involved had fully forgiven the guy...but Leo wasn't sure he ever would. Which may have been a bit hypocritical...but he wasn't thinking about that right then. He was just enjoying conversation and time with Olivia.
He had mentioned breakfast and was greeted with a small smile and a squeeze to his hand. And then a suggestion he hadn't expected.
Soon we could be waking up next to each other. If you’d like.
Leo grinned and raised his brow playfully.
"I feel like I'm supposed to be the one to ask you to move in with me," he teased, truthfully not giving a damn about stereotypical gender norms. He pressed another soft, few kisses to her lips before trailing a couple along her jaw innocently.
"I can't say I've ever heard a better idea though."
He shot her a playful wink and smiled.

A musical laugh escaped her, but was cut short by his kisses. As he trailed a few down her jawline, she couldn’t help but giggle. Happiness burst in her chest at his approval. How perfect life will be! She didn’t know how she’d contain such happiness. She couldn’t pretend she hadn’t thought about it a few million times. Since she moved out on her own, she was truly alone. That gave her all the time in the world to imagine her life with Leo right by her side. No more going to different dorms at the end of the night, she’d have him right where she wanted him. For the first time since she changed, she’d feel at home. Suddenly she felt she could handle the next seven months without him. “Hmmm,” she hummed playfully, turning slightly to face him. “I could think of a couple,” Liv teased him, her brows waggling before she leaned back, a smirk playing on her lips.[break][break]
A wave of exhaustion washed over her, but she powered through it, taking a swig of butterbeer despite her stomach’s objection. Tomorrow would be the worst of it, right before the full moon. Olivia rolled her shoulders and put on a smile. “I wish you could be there for our first game,” she said with a sigh. “At least I’ll be there for your match.” It might be the only one she can, but she’ll try her damn hardest to make them all.

Olivia’s laughter was like a beacon of hope and light in the dark little world they had found themselves in. Like perhaps they could just be…happy together in a simple little life. Olivia playing quidditch…and Leo doing…whatever Leo decided to do after this year.
But would it ever be possible? They were tied to one of the darkest witches the world had ever known…would they ever know peace?
She teased him a bit, pulling him from his thoughts and he grinned, laughing with her as she wagged her brows at him.
”Tease,” he jested back at her, eyes drinking her in as he played with her. She was a minx and he certainly missed the way they could find a hiding spot together in the castle from time to time. But perhaps the wait this year would do them good. He’d have the rest of his life to have his way with her in anyway she wanted him to take her.
As they spoke of quidditch, Leo nodded as she shared his sentiments of wishing he could be there for the match. But her next words surprised him a bit. She was planning on being at his match? He grinned and pulled her closer.
”I’m gonna have to be on my toes if I have such a professional cheering for me in the stands.”

In her dreams, they were just a normal couple. She wasn’t a werewolf, they weren’t tied to Vader, it was just him and her in a simple world. They’d be together, surrounded by their friends, happy and healthy. Her heart would ache when she woke, pining for a reality they’d never have. But as it was their futures were uncertain. Darkness followed them in their wake. Julian is gone, on the run, and the threat of Vader and Jackson loomed over them. Would they ever get any rest?[break][break]
Liv pushed those thoughts away. There was nothing they could do about any of it. What point would there be in spoiling this precious time with him? She teased him instead, her smile brightening at his jest. Gods, she missed him. Why did fate have to be so cruel to separate them like this? At least they have today. And a million tomorrows after he graduates.[break][break]
He seemed surprised that she would be there for his first match, but that just made the announcement all the sweeter. Leo pulled her closer and she grinned, her hands coming up around his shoulders. Her fingers danced in the hair at the nape of his neck. “Hmmm,” she hummed again, pressing another kiss to his lips. “As your former captain, I’d be pretty disappointed if you didn’t give it your all.” She was still teasing him, of course. “It’ll be nice to see you in action again. I might get all hot and bothered.”

Leo was very much on the same page as Olivia. Things around them were all too uncertain. None of them had any idea where Jules was. He knew Chelsea was a mess. Vadellia and Jackson still existed in their worlds.
Anything could happen.
But the one thing Leo was certain about…was Olivia. No matter what came. No matter what happened. They would be together. He loved her.
She kissed him again and played softly with his hair and he rested his head against hers as he breathed her in.
Her words tickled his ears and he chuckled. She seemed hell bent on teasing him like this. But gone were the days when they could sneak around the school…finding a broom closet or the prefect’s bathroom to hide away in for a while.
Now…he had to wait.
But perhaps that would make it that much better.
”You know I’ll always do my best for you,” he teased, tossing her a smirk.

It amused her to no end to tease Leo like she did, knowing she could rile him up with the right words and right expressions. Her heart swelled around him, her feelings so strong, so grounded. Liv had dated before Leo, but she didn’t know love until they got together. Nothing could come close to what they had.[break][break]
“You know I’ll always do my best for you.”[break][break]
Olivia nuzzled into him, smiling warmly. “I know,” she replied softly, sighing contently. She stayed there, tangled in him, for a few more moments before leaning back and reaching for her butterbeer. Being with him made her feel a bit better, but the full moon always drained her so completely. She needed to stay fed and hydrated to prepare for tomorrow night. Liv munched on some more chips, letting the heat between them cool a bit before they both lost their heads. Madam Rosmerta was a kind, accommodating witch but there were definitely limits on what she would tolerate. [break][break]
“Have you heard from Roxie?” she said after a while, turning back to him. It had been months since she saw or heard from her friend, which she found only a little unusual. They didn’t write to each other that often, but to go almost half a year without hearing from the witch… “I’ve heard rumors about her father. I wonder if she’s okay.”

I know.
She curled into him and Leo ran his hand gently up and down her back. It was nice to just hold her. But when she pulled back after a bit, he let her and watched as she sipped at her beverage. He reached for his own and did the same. Eyes gazing out the far window, he observed the looming mountains and caverns out in the distance and wondered for a moment if Julian was out there in one of the labyrinths. Hiding.
But he was pulled from his thoughts by Liv asking about Roxanne and Leo just shook his head. He hadn't heard from her...and honestly he wasn't surprised. She was likely busy enough as it was...and if the rumors about her father were true, then she was "grieving". Or...her imitation of it. It wasn't a secret amongst Roxie's friends that she didn't particularly care for her father.
I wonder if she’s okay.
Leo offered his girlfriend a small smile and rubbed her shoulder.
"I'm sure she's fine...she's tough. She'll reach out if she needs us."
