Basic Rules of HM
1. Don't be a butt. This should be self-explanatory. This is a Harry Potter roleplaying site dedicated to reviving the original Hogwarts Magic created by Snappers. Be polite and accepting. Any bigotry including racism, sexism, transphobia, homophobia, etc is not permitted and may result in your account being banned. Just please be respectful.
2. Really, don't be a butt. Just to clarify.
Consequences of being a butt are based on severity of buttiness, but will include up to three warnings before your account is deleted.
3. Each member has one month from registering to complete and submit an application. Failure to do so may result in account deletion. Staff will be periodically performing account cleanups that will be announced a week in advance. Face claims may be reserved for up to a month before it is considered invalid.
4. Adult content is prohibited by Proboards terms of Service. We are rated PG-13 and will remain so unless the policy of Proboards changes.
5. Cursing is allowed. The Harry Potter fanbase is mostly made of adults. I trust you will use cursing responsibly. Any excessive use or offensive use of cursing may result in banning curse words, which isn't cool.
6. No one-liners. Meaning, please don't just post one or two lines. While I don't care for a word count minimum, you'll be roleplaying with other members who need something to work with and play off of. 150 words is a reasonable short post. This rule does not apply to micro-threads.
7. Ensure all completed threads are archived by staff. When the forum gets too messy, I will be performing 'cleanups' to archive inactive threads older than three months. Please make sure to request to archive a completed thread or a thread you no longer wish to write in to the staff. You can do this through a PM or through our 'ministry' channel on discord. Cleanups will be announced in advance on discord.
8. Please direct all questions to the question board, or admin team. We want to run this site as a team. So, please either group message the admin team or post in the question board here for any questions. Any questions relating to a plot between our characters can, of course, be sent to us individually.
9. Legacy characters will be automatically accepted. This is the revival of the original HM, therefore any characters that existed when HM was still open will automatically transfer over. This does not include new characters made by legacy members, however. You will still need to apply for them like every other new member.
10. Have fun. Too many rules can give you stomach ulcers, so these are more of a sign that says 'HOT! DO NOT TOUCH!' in that they may seem obvious, but need to be stated anyways. We are fairly laid-back here, we just ask you be chill and have fun doing what we love most.
