HISTORY: Annie never met his great-grandparents, but he knew their money: when his mother’s grandparents died, despite their disapproval of their eldest granddaughter’s fascination with muggles and muggle culture, their fortune was split equally between the two young witches. Diane met Charles at a sci-fi convention, and proceeded to betray the conservative ideals she had been raised with by falling in love with him. The Walkers are a relatively high-profile family in magical Britain for that one bold action. Diane and Charles did their best to shield their children from the media attention.

As the fifth of ten children, the middlest child, Annie grew up with the persistent idea in his head that he’d best not get in anyone’s way. After all, there were a lot of other people around with needs he considered more important than his own. This led to Annie being as quiet and unobtrusive as he could possibly manage… for about twenty years. In the summer of 2003, the family was attacked at home by death eaters targeting Annie’s muggle father and blood traitor mother. His father did not survive the attack, and his mother was imprisoned for her use of the killing curse on the attackers. Though Annie was midway down the ladder, of his four older siblings, Pippin was an anxious wreck, Merry was a drunken wreck, and Valerian and Saffron had disappeared. This placed him in the position to ante up and raise his youngest siblings. Even now, with his baby brother fully grown, Annie would do just about anything to protect and care for them.
